Interested in shopping, supporting local artisans and contributing to a great cause at the same time? Then clear the calendar for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 10, when Pineapple Triangle sets up shop at Duce (525 S Central Ave.) in Downtown Phoenix.
The Arizona-exclusive vendor showcase bills itself a “crossroads of local artisans, community and charity,” and attendees at this summer’s Pineapple Triangle event can peruse through an impressive lineup of custom and handmade pieces designed by more than 50 community members while sampling from food trucks and enjoying live local music along the way.
And while sales at the event support the Arizona artists and vendors themselves and therefore stay within the community, at least 20 percent of every item sold goes toward a local charity, with this particular Pineapple Triangle installment benefiting Arizona Helping Hands, Inc. The Scottsdale-based nonprofit provides critical resources for the area’s foster children, among them beds, cribs, backpacks and diapers, among other essential items.
“We’re locally focused in every aspect, from our vendors to our featured charities,” said Pineapple Triangle’s Heather Thome. “It’s about supporting local makers, discovering fresh talent and goods, while giving back to our community.”
