Zoom on over to Free Comic Book Day on Main Street, where 10,000 comics will be given away on Saturday, May 6th! Start at Gotham City Comics at 10 a.m. to collect your map of participating Downtown Mesa businesses.
Each business will have over 500 free comics and 50 titles to choose from. Free comics are offered while supplies last.
Enjoy live music and meet national and local comic book artists! Make sure to dress as your favorite character and participate in the Cosplay costume contest, judging begins at 2:00pm at Gotham City Comics. Prizes include original artwork and comic books. Test your comic book skills in the scavenger hunt, each participating business will have a picture of a comic book character, name all 20 superheroes or villains for the chance to win some amazing prizes!
Free Comic Book Day is a national day where local comic book stores give away free comics to attract everyone from first time comic readers to devoted fans! This year celebrates the 15th anniversary of Free Comic Book day.
Participating businesses include Gotham City Comics & Coffee, Volstead Public House, Jarrod’s Coffee and Tea House, Matáge Custom Picture Framing, Book Gallery, IDEA Museum, Dickson’s Jewelers, Queen’s Pizzeria & Cafe, Pole Barn Primitives, Lulubell Toy Bodega, Asylum Records, Smitholator Cookie Shop, Republica Empanada, My Darling Dragon, Escape Games AZ, Ke A Place To Grow Small Businesses and Subway.
